About Warith

Warith divides an estate among the family according to the Islamic law of inheritance (fara'id). You answer a few short questions, and it shows each heir's share as a fraction, a percentage and an amount, with the rule and evidence behind every share.

Which schools does it follow?

The four Sunni schools: Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi'i and Hanbali. You choose one, and the app tells you whenever the schools reach different results.

Is it a fatwa?

No. Warith is a guide based on the classical rules of the four schools. For binding decisions, please confirm with a qualified scholar or a court.

What should I enter as the estate?

The amount left after funeral costs, debts and any valid bequest (at most a third, and not to an heir) have been settled.

Does it collect my data?

No. Warith works entirely on your phone and collects nothing. See the privacy policy.
